Mid Cornwall's premier alpaca herd.

About Us

Nigel and Margaret Retallack with our sons Robert and Oliver purchased our holding in April 2010. Then began the process of deciding on the right animals for the environment.

Higher Carpalla is a twenty acre holding at the top of Foxhole near St Austell in Cornwall. The farm is 750 feet above see level so the stock on the holding need to be hardy and healthy to withstand the elements.

The decision was taken to farm Alpacas because on a limited acreage they made good financial sense and seemed a comparatively straightforward enterprise.

We now have many female alpacas running on the farm and three lovely stud males, Tantalus, Titan and Calypso.
